Jazz is a performance dance style that arose throughout the mid-20th Century when African American dancers began blending traditional African steps with European styles of movement. This then developed onto the jazz style we know today, allowing dancers to focus on their self-expression in performance as well as a strong technical foundation.
In class, students will learn and develop this technique through set exercises involving leaps, turns, kicks and floor work, along with gaining and working on posture, core stability, flexibility, stamina, strength and co-ordination to develop their own sense of performance
