Gemma started with Musical Theatre at Urdang Academy, London. She furthered her studies with a postgrad in performing arts by Institut del Teatre. She had a choreographic internship at Bill Young Space in New York and a contemporary dance grant at National School for Performing Arts Copenhagen where her final 2 works toured. She was awarded a residency Cité International des Arts with Marie de Paris & Pepinieres Européennes pour Jeunes Artistes for a community project in Paris. Her work Sefurity Eggseat was performed at Zelyonka Fest, Kiev.
She earned a commission from Stripart festival and she choreographed a literature project “Dance me a book “ and “Remou-te” in Barcelona. She choreographed at the First European Dansathon by Foundation BNP Paribas, Sadler’s Wells, Maison de la Danse Lyon and Théâtre de Liege; developing an installation playground for audiences to interact with. She presented Botanic Dance at Oxford Green Week funded by the City Council. Gemma has been teaching different dance styles since 2008; embracing different ages, abilities and expertise.
